About Little Leaf

Hi, I'm Zara.

I'm a mum of three, and Little Leaf began with a problem I couldn't solve.

As our son Fergus started on his journey into solids, the silicone dinnerware he ate from all developed strong smells. We threw them away each time, and when we started looking for alternatives, we soon realised it was impossible to find children's dinnerware that ticked all the boxes.

We wanted something that was:

  • non-breakable;
  • free from plastic;
  • durable enough for everyday family life;
  • presented his meals in a visually appealing way; and
  • beautiful enough to fit naturally into our home.

For a while, we even resorted to Fergus using our everyday dinnerware as we just could not find a children's option that met the brief. Then, when our daughter Evelyn started her own journey with solids, we found ourselves searching again, casting our net beyond New Zealand's shores. There, we found fantastic options built around beautiful stainless steel enhanced with a silicone base, but as luck would have it many of those products either could not ship to New Zealand or were just too expensive to get here.

That's when I had my lightbulb moment. I realised there was a gap for New Zealand families and so after months of researching manufacturers, comparing materials, testing products and refining designs, Little Leaf was born.

Our desire to offer a durable, safe dinnerware solution for little New Zealanders has culminated in a collection that combines premium stainless steel with food-grade silicone to create dinnerware that is practical, durable, and designed for everyday family life. It is made for messy mealtimes and little hands, and for the moments that bring families together around the table. You can be safe in the knowledge that our products are built to last every step of your child's journey into solids.

Thank you for supporting our small New Zealand business.

I hope Little Leaf becomes part of your family's everyday mealtimes for years to come.

With love,

Zara
